What AisleClear is

AisleClear provides an automated accessibility assessment of Shopify storefronts. We scan a set of your store's public pages using open-source tooling (including the axe-core testing engine) referenced against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, and deliver a report that identifies potential issues, prioritizes them, attributes them to their likely source (your theme or a specific app), and provides plain-language guidance.

What AisleClear is not

AisleClear is not legal advice, and does not guarantee compliance. No automated tool — including ours — can guarantee conformance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the European Accessibility Act (EAA), or any other law, regulation, or standard. An AisleClear report identifies a subset of potential accessibility issues that automated testing can detect. It does not test every page, every user scenario, or every type of barrier, and it is not a substitute for manual testing, review by a qualified accessibility professional, or advice from a licensed attorney.

We make no representation that acting on our report will prevent, resolve, or reduce the likelihood of any legal claim, demand letter, or lawsuit. You are responsible for determining your own legal obligations and for any changes you make to your store.

Use of AI

AisleClear uses artificial intelligence to help generate the plain-language explanations and fix guidance in your report. AI-generated content may contain errors or omissions and should be reviewed before you rely on or act on it. The underlying detection of accessibility issues is performed by established automated testing tools; the AI layer is used to translate those technical findings into readable guidance.

Free founding audits

During our founding period, audits may be provided free of charge in exchange for your honest feedback. Free audits are provided "as is," for informational purposes, and carry the same limitations described above. We may decline or discontinue free audits at any time.

Your responsibilities

By requesting an audit, you confirm that you own or are authorized to request an accessibility scan of the store URL you provide. If your storefront is password- protected and you provide a storefront password, you authorize us to use it solely to access your store for the purpose of running your audit. We do not use it for any other purpose.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AisleClear and Joseph Michael Peluso will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of, or reliance on, an AisleClear report or these services. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid for the service giving rise to the claim (which, for a free audit, is zero).

Privacy

Our intake form collects four things: your store URL, an email address to send your report to, an optional storefront password (used only to run the audit — never stored or shared), and an optional open field where you can note focus areas or accessibility questions. We use this information solely to run and deliver your audit and to follow up with you. We do not sell your information.

Changes

We may update these terms. The version posted on our site at the time you request an audit applies to that audit.
